C'elle: Protect your future

Last August 30, 2008, my father had a brain attack or what we call "stroke" or Cerebrovascular Accident". The doctor said that the cause of the attack was due to high levels of cholesterol in the body. The doctor explained further that thrombus (fat disposition) was dislodge and travels to the brain, thus blocking one of the vessel in the brain resulting to less blood flow towards the brain.

According to the doctor, large part my father's brain was damaged specifically the right side of the brain. Because of the damage, my father can no longer move the left side of his body. This incident has cause a big change in our lives. Since my dad is the breed winner of the family, it is expected that our family will suffer from financial problems but it's okay... I know that we will find ways to solve this problem.

Anyway, have you heard about C'elle? C'elle conducted a research study about the stem cells found in the menstrual blood. They said that menstrual stem cells may be the basis of medical treatments for serious diseases. Currently, several pre-clinical trials are ongoing using these cells to treat diseases such as:
  • Heart Disease
  • Breast Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Vascular Regeneration
I was really amazed by this information. I thought these kind of diseases are untreatable. but I was wrong. C'elle is offering us an affordable way to protect our future.

Sakura The CardCaptor

One night, ten-year-old Sakura Kinomoto stumbles upon a mysterious book entitles "The CLow" while rooting in her father's library. Hidden inside it is a strange deck of cards. Sakura pulls out the topmost card and reads it. Sunddenly, a strong gust of wind blows all but one of the cards around the room, out the window and into the night.

Keroberos, the Guardian Beast sealed within the book to watch over the cards, is awakened by the commotion. He freaks out when Sakura tells him that she accidentally set the cards free. Those cards are no ordinary cards, he explains, they're powerful and dangerous magic artifacts created by the ancient sorcerer Clow Reed, and now the Clow Cards are scattered all over Tokyo! To make up for her mistake, Keroberos appoints Sakura as the Cardcaptor whose duty is to find the Clow Cards and bring them under control - before they end up destroying the world!

Quite a daunting aassignment especially for a 4th-grader from Tomoeda Elementary School. Luckily for Sakura, she doesn't stand alone in her quest to cature the Clow Cards. She has five of her family and friends beside her to lend a helping hand.

The Jack of Hearts. The Jack in a deck of cards used to be known as the Knave and Touya Kinomoto, Sakura's older brother is a right rascally knave. He teases her, calls her names, and play tricks on her all the time! But despite this outward nastiness, Touya cares ery deeply for his little sister. He's actually very protective of Sakura, and thanks to his uncanny sixth sense, he is able to warn her and others when danger is approaching.

The 10 of Hearts. Yokito Tsukishiro is the best friend of Sakura's older brother. He's quite a guy. Not only is he a brilliant student-clubs fight over who gets to have him as a member-he excels in sports too, never failing to help the carsity teams when they're short of players. No wonder Sakura has an enormous crush on him-he's a perfect "10"! It's a rare but special treat for Sakura when Yukito walks with her and her brother to school. Probably the only peculiar thing about Yukito is that he can put away food by the truckload and never gain a pound.

The Queen of Hearts. Tomoyo Daidouji is the quenn of sakura's world, and sakura definitely rules in tomoyo's world! Sheand sakura are classmates and best friends. She is one of the few people who knows Sakura's secret and this excites her to no end. She designs a new costume for Sakura to wear each time she goes card-capturing, and records their adventures on her video camera.

The King of Hearts. Li Syaoran is first introduced as just an exchange student from Hong Kong but later it's revealed that he is also a Cardcaptor with the same abilities as Sakura. Li wants to possess the Clow Cards for himself and will compete many times with Sakura to capture them. Howeveer, as he and Sakura to capture them. However, as he and Sakura learn to respect and understand each other, their competition soon turns to cooperation. Could it turn into something more? Could Li become the King of Sakura's heart?

The Ace of Hearts. Keroberos is Sakura's Ace-up-her-sleeve when it comes to anything magical, owing to the many years he spent as the Guardian Beast of the Clow Cards. Though how this cute little teddy-bear-like creature with wings could ever guard anything effectively is a mystery! Kero-chan, as he is affectionately known, spends his spare time stuffing himself silly with cake and candy, or working out his excess energy on video games.

Cryo Cell: Can save lives

How I wish I could turn back the day when Ezekiel was born because I want to bank Ezekiel's umbilical cord blood. Back then, I didn't know about the importance of banking the cord blood. I haven't heard about Cryo-Cell yet until I've read it in the internet.

Why would I want to keep Ezekiel's cord blood? According to research, stem cells from cord blood can treat various diseases such as heart diseases, Parkinson disease, leukemia and many more.

One great advantage of cord blood banking is that, the blood is 100% compatible to your baby because the blood is came for his "own" today. For example, if your baby needs a transplant, it is so difficult to obtain such organ/blood because of the strict matching requirements. But cells taken from your newborn's are a perfect match for your baby for his or her lifetime.

Here's a testimonial from one customer who also used Cryo-Cell:

"My children are the most precious gifts that I will ever have and I want to do everything I can to make sure they are well. While I was pregnant with my first child, I would see articles and ads about cord blood and it bothered me that it was so expensive but what if I one day needed this blood. The reality of having only one chance or it really went in the garbage kept me wondering if I would regret not investing. What if he had cancer or his dad or I were sick, would that blood have been the cure? Through research, I came across Cryo-Cell International, Inc., a company with the most reasonable rates and the assurance of two holding facilities.

When I was pregnant with my second child, we wondered if one bank was enough? Finances were tighter and should we spend the money? Then we realized that his brothers blood might not match for the new baby. The next day, stories were breaking about how Cord blood had saved or changed the lives of children, one cancer, one cerebral palsy. Then we discovered that a friend was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. He didn't bank his daughters blood and wished he had. Three years prior, I lost a friend to renal cancer when she was 29. We felt like it was our answer.

We are just beginning to see miracles that this blood can bring. We have two "life insurance policies", that is how we look at it. If anyone in the family gets ill, there is a chance that the blood could save our lives. If we don't use it, then it is there for our son's children."

The Famous Japanese Filmmaker

Akira Kurosawa was the first Japanese filmmaker to achieve international acclaim. His film, Seven Samurai, about a band of leaderless samurai who defend a village from bandits, introduced the honorable Japanese warrior to the world. It later inspired the acclaimed cowboy film The Magnificient Seven, and to this day, still has great influence on movies - The Last Samurai, anyone?

While he was most famous for his samurai flicks, he also made fils (kiru and No Regrets for Our Youth) about modern society, many of which are still considered masterpieces. He also made Shakespearean movies, adapting Macbeth and King Lear into movies that were uniquely Japanese.
