Gensai Kawakami

Lived: From 1834 to 1871
Claim to Fame: Samurai, inspiration for Kenshin Himura

He was one of four deadly assasins who lived in the last days of the shogunate. Soft-spoken and gentle at first glance, he was a cold-blooded killer at heart. Master of the lightning-fast Shiranui-ryu sword style, which he invented himself, he usually favored the quick draw and a low attacking stance. He was said to be virtually unbeatable. Just another anime character? Think again. Gensai Kawakami was the real deal.

Though different accounts of his life exist, Gensai Kawakami was best known for his midday duel with Sakuma Shouzan. Sakuma believed that the only way for Japan to progress was to open itself to the outside world. Gensai, like many of his countrymen, hated and feared gaijin, or foreigners, and wanted to keep Japan free of any foreign influence. His nationalistic acts became legendary and made Gensai the perfect inspiration for Samura X's hero, Kenshin Himura.

Our Financial Security

Is God interested in your personal financies? Some people says, No! Why would God be interested? But the truth is God is intersted in our personal financies. Financial security begins with recognition that God is interested in our financial security. Secondly, God promises financial security to those who faithfully follow the principles in giving. I have one question for you, why can't you let go something that alrady belongs to God? If you really love God giving is a happiness. Thirdly, trust wholly, everything to God and honor the Lord from your wealth.
Remember if you make money your God, it will play you like a devil...

Exam?

Yay! Summer class is over... I just had my exam a while ago and the result was not good. The exam was easy if I did the studying. You can answer it if you really read the books, unfortunately I did not read my books.. so I got a score of 55/100! Not good? Yeah, not so good. Even if I got that low, low score, I think I'm going to pass. I just have this feeling. I'll tell you if I pass the summer class.

Stay The Same

Talk, talk, talk...

Tomorrow will be our exam. I haven't read my lessons yet but I'm planning to read it later, coz I want chikka2x with my bloggy and with YOU. ^_______^.
This morning when I came to school, everybody was reading their books and their handouts because oral revalida was going on. What is oral revalida anyway? It is a kind of test where you can choose a disease to discuss(e.g diabetes). You have to define it, discuss the pathophysiology of the disease, explain the clinical manifestation and your management. Well, there were only 6 kinds of diseases... and you gotta choose one paper rolled up with the name of a disease written on it.. You're lucky if you pick the right paper... I mean the disease that you really know. Hmmmp!! How I wish they will turn the oral revalida into a written revalida! Ops! ( laughs...) O_o

Showdown!!!! Just for fun

Challenge one of your friends, or form teams by barkadas!

Coconut Shotput

Grab a friend and make a beeline for the nearest coconut tree. Find coconuts that have fallen -- DO NOT shake the tree to make them fall, because they just might hit your own coconut head. Cock your arm and throw it as fas as you can. Furthest toss wins! Remember, you should only do this with an adult judge to supervise. You can also try this with a pillow or your sister's teddy bear.

Push-off

Challenge your bud and stand directly in front of each other. Plant your feet firmly on the ground, making sure you're still within arms reach of each other. Take time to make sure you're stable on the ground - this is important! Now, reach out and try to make the other person lose their balance! No falls needed - a simple slip or stumble can decide who wins.

Coin Dive

You think you can beat Aquaman at his own game? Then prove it! Get a friend, head down to a swimming pool (one with a lifeguard on duty) and see how fast you can find a coin tossed into the pool! The moment the coin hits the water, use your sense to pinpoint where it is, and your crazy speed to get it!

Go to Mars ------Virtually

Think you're tough enough to volunteer for the latest Mars project? Russia is looking for wannabe astronauts --who won't actually get to go into space. Instead, volunteers will be locked ina space capsule for 500 days to see what happens to the human body when put in that condition and to check if it's safe --and sane -- to keep spacemen in the capsule for that long. Sure you'll be provided with food, oxygen, a bed and a bathroom, but 500 days without a PS3 -- you've gotta be kidding!

Who are you calling fatty?

People, stand up for your rights! A university professor in Brazil was fined 2,600 rals (around P60,400) for calling one of his students a "fatty". Rosiane dos Santos Rocha left the classroom to go to the restroom, but she left her tape recorder on so she wouldn't miss a word of her professor's lecture. When she played the tape back, she heard the proffesor telling the class she was a 'fatty' and that she would get fatter if she didn't go on diet. When she confronted her proffesor, he said that he didn't mean to offend her - but didn't his mom ever tell him that if he can't say anything nice, then he shoudn't say anything at all?

Tired.. :(

Hello guys! I'm really sorry... I haven't post anything for these past days. I've been busy lately, busy at school and all the duties. I'm so exhausted and tired right now. I Just came home from work. I've been standing for almost 6 hours because we had a case (TABHSO) at the operating room. Wew... that was so tiring so so so tiring.... my feet are numb after the operation, i don't feel like moving it....oop's I forgot I haven't taken my lunch yet! Got to eat now! see yah!

Cool Enough for this School?

The latest study shows that fish are picky when it comes to choosing friends, just like us. Fish reportedly prefer buddies from their own "neighborhood" and use their senses, like sight and smell, to make and pick their posse. Think Dory and Marlin from Finding Nemo would have been pals in the real world? Possibly, though Oscar and Lenny from Shark Tale may be stretching science a bit. (kzone)

Say Goodbye to Cat Allergies

If you're allergic to cat hair, you may want to get in line for the latest genetic breakthrough for cat-lovers everywhere - hypoallergenic pets. Using a special method called "gene silencing". cat-breeding company Allerca says it can weaken the effect of the feline gene that creates the allergy-causing substance in cat hair that makes you sneeze. Allerca says it's not stopping there and will strive to create more customized pets for your every want and need. Cool, can I have one that barks and has purple polka-dotted fur?

Amelia Earhart

When 10 year-old Amelia Earheart first saw a plane, she said, "It was a thing of rusty wire and wood and not at all interesting... "But many years later, when she was given the chance to take a 10-minute flight over Los Angeles on a biplane, Amelia new she had to fly. She took flying lessons and save enough money to buy her own plane. Amelia started setting all-time high-flying records - including becoming the first woman to fly so low across the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. Amelia flew all over the world - all around the globe people look up to her. She was honored with several awards but her desire to push boundaries never stopped. Her last flight took off from Los Angeles on March 17, 1937, and months later, as she approached the Pacific Islands, trouble set in. "We must be on you but cannot see you. Gas is running low. We are circling but cannot see the island, " was the last message received form Earhart. Although many search teams were sent to look for her plane wreck near Howland Island, nothing was ever found.

Dog Fetch1

Look at this cute doggy.. oh.. he's so cute I wish I have a dog like this.. Socialized dogs will play games like fetch with any reasonable human -- even in the face of competing instincts. The reason: thousands of years of breeding that selected for animals whose social skills trumped the rest.
